On National Poetry Day, Thursday 4 October, Pam Ayres returns to The Roses to perform a charity show in aid of the Sebakwe Black Rhino Trust. The Trust raises money to help conserve the remaining Black Rhinos in Zimbabwe.
Pam has been making the nation laugh for over 40 years. Funny and warm, her charming understated manner belies a rare comic precision. Her hair-trigger timing, her eye for the absurd details of everyday life, and unforgettable turn of phrase, combine to make her a true national treasure. Recent TV appearances for BBC TV include Springwatch, Celebrity Mastermind, Celebrity Antique Road Trip, and Women at War: 100 Years of Service. Recent Radio broadcasts include Just A Minute, and Series 6 of Ayres On The Air for Radio 4.
“Pam Ayres’ session was one of my highlights of the Hay Festival this year because I laughed so hard that my stomach ached for hours afterwards, and it is wonderful to witness a true craftswoman practice her art.” Review from Hay Festival 2015
