Pride in Gloucestershire present the big screen adaptation of the provocative Broadway hit. For a group of young Bohemian artists struggling to survive in 1980’s NYC’s East Village, paying the rent is not the only problem they have to contend with. Loosely based on Puccini’s La Boheme, Rent takes on themes of drug addiction, sexuality, homelessness and HIV/AIDS, while remaining a gleeful celebration of individuality and living in the moment.
Members of Cheltenham Operatic and Dramatic Society will be performing a selection of songs from the Musical prior to the screening.
