A selection of children from Queen Margaret Primary School have been working on an art project involving local landmarks in Tewkesbury.
KS1 children (4-7yrs) worked on their artwork with coloured pencils, depicting their impression of what they see. The focus of the activity was to use colour and directional lines in their drawings.
KS2 children (7-11yrs) used chalk pastel on coloured paper focusing on colour and tone in their work.
All the children were able to select their image to interpret including the coloured paper.
This type of activity allows children to use their creativity and learn all about their local area at the same time.
"For the great doesn’t happen through impulse alone; and is a succession of little things that are brought together.” Quote by Vincent van Gogh
My thanks to Sara Benyon, Headteacher at queen Margaret Primary School, Tewkesbury for all her support in putting together this project.
To the children for all their efforts in creating beautiful art. Joanne Humphreys - Artist In Residence
