There are a few recognisable faces as well as some newcomers appearing on our stage in Dick Whittington this Christmas.
Many will remember Ben Eagle from the last two pantomimes at The Roses. Ben, who will play Sarah The Cook, joins straight from a tour of Hamlet in the USA, and will be joined by fellow Roses alumnus Michael Watson-Gray as Idle Jack. Michael gave a hilarious performance in Sleeping Beauty last year and reprises the sidekick role with gusto this year.
Also returning is Bristol Old Vic alumnus Simon Spencer-Hyde, who is back to perform the roles of Alderman Fitzwarren / Captain Horatio / The Emperor or Morocco.
Having just finished a tour of Bill Kenwright’s Cilla: The Musical as understudy for Cilla, Amy Bridges takes on the role of Dick Whittington, whilst Laura Barnard will appear as Alice Fitzwarren / Fairy Bowbells. Laura has worked on a large range of theatre and gained prestigious awards while studying at Trinity Laban.
Completing this talented mix is Derek Frood as King Rat, who has recently appeared in BBC’s Poldark, and Priscilla Osegie as Tommy the Cat.
Dick Whittington is set to be bigger than ever with plenty of heart, tomfoolery and dazzling magic to keep the whole family cheerful through the holiday season. Tickets are selling fast with multiple performances now completely sold out, so those wishing to be a part of the spectacle are advised to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
