We are recruiting for new people to join our Board of Trustees. Candidates should be passionate about both the arts and the local area and be committed to seeing The Roses continue to thrive as one of Gloucestershire’s leading arts centres.
The Roses is a very successful arts centre promoting every kind of professional show and the best of current cinema. It also works closely with the community, offering a wide range of workshops, courses and weekly activities. It is at the heart of Tewkesbury life but also draws audiences from all over Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.
Chairman Keith Norton said:
“The Roses’ board needs to reflect the diverse community of Tewkesbury and the surrounding area so applications from disabled and ethnic minority candidates would be especially welcome. We are also interested in candidates with experience in the fields of accountancy, business, education and community.”
A trustee’s role involves attending monthly board meetings, advocating and participating in the fundraising activities of the theatre and giving informal advice and support to theatre staff.
The Roses is a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council of England and has confirmed funding from the Arts Council until 2022. The theatre also raises money from trusts and foundations, lottery funds, individual donations and business support.
