On 16th March, the government advised everyone to stop all non-essential contact including attending theatres. On this basis we have decided than in order to fully protect the health and wellbeing of our customers and staff we will temporarily close.
We are a place of gathering, connection and community – all those things we are being advised against to protect ourselves and our loved ones – and without this, even a short closure, is going to have a devasting impact on us.
We are looking into a number of options open to small businesses to help us get through the next few months but realistically we are not going to get through it without the financial support of our friends, audiences and customers.
If you are able to make a donation of any size to the theatre to help us remain open we would be hugely grateful.
With your help we can continue the great things we had planned: the Roses has won its first Arts Council England project grant in 9 years and a £19k grant from Tewkesbury Borough Council to work with young people across Tewkesbury; alongside a brilliant programme of events we have a new Panto for 2020 written for us from the Bafta-winning writer of the New Stateman and Birds of a Feather; in 2021 we plan to launch an annual children’s festival and will be staging a giant immersive theatre game across the whole town.
Please help save the arts!
Wishing good health and wellbeing to you all.
