About Take Part

Whatever your age, there’s always so much to take part in at the Roses – from yoga, dance and circus skills to opera, stage combat and story telling: from performances, events and workshops, to the thrill of volunteering behind the scenes.

This got us thinking…seeing as there are so many activities to participate in, why not re-brand the Youth and Community department? And that’s exactly what we did!

Welcome to Take Part @ the Roses!

Take Part News…

There are plenty of exciting activities planned (all possible due to the grant we received from the Big Lottery ‘Reaching Communities’ Fund).

‘Young Company’ Youth theatre group, for budding thespians aged between 14 and 16, will be starting in September; we’ll be introducing the ‘Arts Award’, a national qualification focusing on developing creative and leadership skills, and dance workshops - in conjunction with Gloucestershire Dance - will soon be available for ages 8 to 50+.

We’re currently working on a number of projects including Art Lift for Tewkesbury, a GP referral scheme which uses visual and performing arts to aid health; Take Out – bringing arts activities out into rural Gloucestershire; Count Me In where we’re working with local secondary schools, looking at exclusion issues; Backchat..., a free theatre in education play and workshop for Key Stage 3 students, and a Youth Offending project which explores actions and consequences, using theatre and film as an aid.

If you’d like to find out more why not email us or pop into the theatre for a chat?
