Take Out

Take Out is an
art in rural and urban areas project for under 18’s and people of pensionable age, to encourage community learning and help people to lead active happy lives.

We understand that many people in Gloucestershire find it difficult to access regular arts activity due to their rural location, or financial restrictions. We aim to tackle this isolation by providing an opportunity for communities to rediscover their identity through participatory arts activity. The Roses Theatre intends to bring the arts out into your community and enable local people to unite in the design and creation of a community artwork, which will reflect local issues and become a centre piece for the area. The final piece will be unveiled at a community event at the end of the project, so the project participants can celebrate their achievements.

Through this project the Roses aims to:

o   Offer an essential forum for communication and shared experience between members of communities

o   Use arts workshops as a tool to empower communities by improving their well-being and activity levels

o   Enable communities to create lasting pieces of art work which represent their accomplishments, and bolster community spirit

o   Improve the quality of artistic activity available in rural areas

o   Improve the access to artistic activity in urban areas

o   Encourage intergenerational working

The Roses is working in Partnership with Create Gloucestershire Venues to programme this project – more details to come...
