Make your own video nasty!
To complement our Halloween screening of Censor, we are inviting our audience to design their own Video Nasty VHS covers.
Video Nasty was a term applied to the influx of gory low budget horror films that came onto the market to satisfy the demand for content as video players became affordable and film studios were still hesitant about releasing their films in this format. Seen as a scourge on society, many were banned, resulting in a black market. Some of them are now regarded as low budget cult classics and have been an influence for many successful film makers.
Think you can do better? Design your own cover for an existing or totally made-up Video Nasty title and you could win a pair of tickets to a film of your choice and be included in an exhibition to accompany our Halloween screening of Censor.
