City boy Pietro first meets rugged farm hand Bruno as an 11-year-old while on holiday with his family. After spending several idyllic summers together, they grow apart, but as an adult, the now well-travelled Paolo finds the magnetic pull of the mountain hard to resist, and returns to rebuild a dilapidated cottage – and his friendship - with Bruno.
