MD / Music Supervisor
JobsJob Description
Join us for Sleeping Beauty: a brand-new, record-chasing panto packed with pop bangers, big laughs and in-jokes about our lovely town in Gloucestershire.
Written by UK Pantomime Association award-winner Toby Hulse and directed by Olivier Award‑winning Artistic Director Derek Bond, it’s set to be a festive riot (oh yes it is).
We need an MD who can: create backing tracks; build, adapt and transpose arrangements; teach songs (and harmonies) to a professional cast and our young ensemble; and be in the thick of the action during the run — conducting, playing keys, and (if you’re game) adding percussion too.
You’ll collaborate closely with the director, choreographer and creative team from day one.
You’ll be fun, collaborative and calm under pressure, with excellent musical/technical chops and a generous rehearsal-room manner. If you love making performers sound brilliant and audiences roar, we’d love to hear from you - especially if you have a base in North Gloucestershire / Worcestershire!
Rehearsals begin: 9th November
Tech begins: 23rd November
First Performance: 28th November
Last Performance: 2nd Jan
Rehearsals will take place in Tewkesbury, and you must be available for all rehearsals and performances.
The fee is £800 per week, plus £475 per week for subsistence (and/or travel allowance or reimbursement, where applicable) during both rehearsal and performance weeks.
An additional £1,600 fee will be paid for preparation, meetings before rehearsals, and three audition days (one in London and two in Tewkesbury).
Audition days will take place in May/June (dates to be confirmed).
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a meeting online.
