Work Experience

Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at a theatre?

Our work experience programme offers a chance to spend a week at The Roses, meeting the people who make the theatre happen and finding out about the many different jobs involved in running a busy arts venue.

From lighting and sound to marketing, customer service and creative projects, you'll gain an insight into the day-to-day life of a working theatre and discover some of the opportunities available within the arts and cultural sector.

What can I expect?

During your placement, you may spend time with different departments across the building, including:

  • Technical Theatre
  • Marketing and Communications
  • Fundraising
  • Box Office
  • Front of House
  • Community
  • Children & Young People
  • Events

Every week is different, so activities will vary depending on what's happening at the theatre during your placement.

Please note: this is not a performance-based opportunity. The placement focuses on the wide range of careers that help make theatre and live events possible.
