The Roses is a remarkable organisation: a cultural cornerstone with deep community roots, a thriving programme of live performance, film, and creative activity, and a bold, forward-looking spirit. As we mark our 50th anniversary, we find ourselves at a pivotal and energising moment in our story—one defined by transformation, ambition, and renewed purpose.

Under the leadership of our current Director, The Roses has undergone an extraordinary period of growth and reinvention. We have rebuilt our business model from the ground up, expanded our earned and donated income, rapidly improved our capital infrastructure both front and backstage, and returned to surplus. We have launched new commercial and youth departments, pioneered a creative health and wellbeing strand with far-reaching social impact, and significantly increased access for disabled, neurodiverse and marginalised communities. Perhaps most importantly, we’ve stepped into a leadership role in the wider cultural life of the borough—convening Tewkesbury’s creative, heritage, and environmental sectors around a shared vision for the future.

We are now seeking a new Director to carry this momentum forward: a visionary leader with the strategic clarity, financial confidence, and emotional intelligence to guide the next chapter. Someone who can lead with heart and head, hold ambition and care in balance, and help shape a cultural organisation that is as innovative as it is indispensable.
