About Silly Shakespeare: Play in A Day
Silly Shakespeare: Play in a Day
A fun, energetic theatre day for young people who enjoy performing and trying something a bit different. Led by director and drama teacher Lara Lawman and musical theatre performer Joe Birch‑Scanlan, participants will create their own silly version of a Shakespeare play in just one day.
The day will be packed with drama games, character work and movement, exploring Shakespeare’s stories in a way that’s playful, accessible and confidence‑building. Working as a group, participants will bring the play together and share what they’ve made in an informal, work‑in‑progress performance on stage for parents and families to attend at 4pm. No previous experience with Shakespeare or drama is needed - just a willingness to get involved, have a go, and enjoy telling stories together. Expect plenty of laughs, creativity and big characters throughout the day.
Participants should bring a water bottle, a packed lunch, and wear comfortable clothes suitable for movement. Bookers will receive an email containing a participant form to complete ahead of this workshop.
