We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have been named Entertainment Venue of the Year at the So Glos Lifestyle & Community Awards.
After being voted for by the public and shortlisted as one of five finalists, we are incredibly proud to have been chosen as this year’s winner. Receiving this recognition means so much to us, especially during our 50th Anniversary year, making it an even more special milestone.

This award is not just for us — it is a celebration of our entire community and everyone who has supported us along the way. From our volunteers and staff to our customers, patrons, supporters and partners, every person has played a part in helping us achieve this honour.
For the past 50 years, we have aimed to be more than just an entertainment venue by creating a welcoming space where people can come together, enjoy shared experiences and make lasting memories. This recognition reflects the incredible support we continue to receive from our community.
Our Artistic Director & CEO, Derek Bond, says:
“We are incredibly proud to receive this award, especially during our 50th Anniversary year. To be recognised and supported by our community in this way means so much to everyone at The Roses. This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff, volunteers, supporters and audiences who continue to make The Roses such a special place and we are hugely grateful to everyone who voted for us and helped make this possible.”
We have recently launched our new campaign, Made For You by The Roses, which aims to raise vital core funds needed to grow the work for our community and support the future of the venue.
Every donation made through the campaign will directly support more self-produced work at The Roses — creating original theatre and live experiences made here in Tewkesbury, for our community. By investing in our own productions, we can champion local talent, create opportunities for creatives, and bring more ambitious, homegrown work to our stage, while also helping to sustain our youth theatre and community programmes for years to come.
If you would like to support the campaign and help shape the future of The Roses, you can donate here.
Finally, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us and continues to support what we do. This award belongs to all of you too, and we are incredibly grateful to share this achievement together.
