About The Social Reckoning

Aaron Sorkin’s gripping follow-up to The Social Network focuses on Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen, whose revelations exposed the company’s darkest secrets.

Frances Haugen is a young Facebook engineer who becomes increasingly concerned about what the company knows about the effects of its platform. When she decides to speak out, she turns to Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz, sharing a huge collection of internal documents that reveal what Facebook knew about the impact of its algorithms. Their investigation becomes one of the biggest technology stories of the decade, putting Haugen in the spotlight and forcing Facebook to answer some very difficult questions.

Written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, The Social Reckoning is a companion piece to his Oscar-winning The Social Network, moving from the creation of Facebook to the consequences of its extraordinary rise. Mikey Madison (Anora) stars as Haugen, with Jeremy Allen White as Horwitz and Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg. Fast-talking, sharply constructed and rooted in real events, it turns a complex story about technology, journalism and corporate power into an engrossing David-and-Goliath drama.
