About Memory Café: Memories of The Roses

The Memory Cafe is run by Roses Team members who have all had Dementia Awareness training and have a warm and welcoming manner.

To commemorate and celebrate The Roses turning 50 this year, we are starting to use a special curated Memory Box for use in our Memory Cafe sessions. This has been lovingly compiled by Emma our Facilitator - who is bringing together interesting props, memorabilia and items that link to The Roses 50-year history to start interesting conversations and tactile crafty activities to all to enjoy.

  • We play games, such as dominos and connect 4 as well as crafty activities
  • We will have pictures and stories of The Roses Theatre over the years, as we make our way towards a very special 50th anniversary next year!
  • Hot Drinks & biscuits provided for free!

Come and share your stories, meet other carers and enjoy a social session. There is no need to book or any cost involved.

This is a social activity and we will aim to sign post you as best we can if you are looking for more information on local Dementia Support services. Occasionally we will be joined by professionals from Guideposts

If you would like more information please contact Megan, megan.dunford@rosestheatre.org

With thanks to Gloucestershire County Council's Thriving Communities Fund for their investment in this programme

'We are thrilled to be celebrating our Memories of The Roses as part of our Memory Cafe - during our informal and casual sessions we will be using props and old brochures from over the years to create some crafty activities. We offer a safe space to chat, have a cuppa and be creative for people with a Dementia and their carers.'
