Artist Development

The Roses is committed to supporting the local creative freelance community.

Over the next 2 years we are expanding how we work with and develop artists:

Pantomime Writer Commissions

In 2022 we launched a panto commissioning programme that works with under-represented professional writers, over 2-3 years. They will be mentored by world class writers, including BAFTA award winner, Maurice Gran. Our associate writer for 2023 is Miranda Walker.

Education and Community programme

One of the core aims of the The Roses rapidly expanding Get Involved department is to provide ongoing and regular facilitator roles for local creative practitioners.

Developing Local Creatives

We are passionate about developing creative voices in the local area. In 2023 The Roses will be creating platforms for artists and performers to explore their current work by providing space for research and development in addition to performance and exhibition opportunities. If you are interested in developing your practice with us, get in touch or keep up to date by following us on Instagram @rosesgetcreative

Developing Careers

At The Roses, we thrive of developing and growing the existing talent in our team. In 2022 we opened our doors to four young people as part of the governments Kickstart scheme and extended employment to each of these individuals at the end of their contract. We also encourage and provide opportunities for training and CPD (Continued Professional Development).
