Education and Schools

We believe all children and young people should have access to the arts and creative industries.

The Roses coordinates multiple projects in partnership with local schools in the borough.

If you’re a school or offer an educational provision to young people and are interested in finding out more

Here are a few of our current projects

Resilience Project

After the impact of world events in previous years, The Roses has been working with SENCO support teachers at Tirlebrook Primary School and their Year 5 pupils to help them identify the difference between declining mental health and dealing with difficulties. In partnership with Artspace Cinderford and Tewkesbury Nature Reserve, we have developed a 10 week programme around character development to build their resilience in the lead up to SATs and the transition to Secondary School.

Milestone School – Confidence and Wellbeing Project

After a successful two years, we are thrilled to invite Milestone School back to The Roses for their annual creative project. Facilitated by Colin Smith, 18 pupils from this special education school have the opportunity grow their confidence and wellbeing through creativity as they work towards a final performance on stage. This year, all Year 7’s will be asked to contribute towards the final performance, including those unable to attend the theatre in person, through in-school workshops on set design and making.

Work Experience

We also offer work experience placements for young adults still in school, or individuals with a passion for the arts industry.

The Roses is only able to offer volunteering for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards to those in Year 12 and above.

Our work experience places for the 2023/24 academic year are now full.
